~* Telling the Family *~

We had planned for about a month that if all went well at our Aug 26th appt, we'd tell the family on Labour Day weekend. Since it was Ben's family we are telling (mine is very small and my mom was going to be included in the news with Ben's family) .. I decided it was only fair he choose how he'd want to tell them.

Perfectly planned, Ben's mom was having a housewarming party Labour Day weekend.

We had told everyone to come a little earlier to have a family meeting to discuss Christmas.

Well getting Ben's family together proved to be more then challenging, (to say the least). It seemed every week we were told someone new couldnt make it.

In the end we decided instead of stressing about it, whoever was there would find out our news, and whoever wasnt would find out some other way ....

The day came, and we were quite disappointed that some important family members wouldnt be able to make it, but decided we'd go ahead anyways.

In the end, EVERYONE showed up which made us feel much better (and happier!)

Ben had told everyone since we were all together, he would like to take a family photo in the backyard. It was a beautiful sunny day!

We gathered everyone outside, (Grandma, Grandpa, Mom, Keith, Shelley, Faith, Ron, Katie, Adam, John, Michelle, and Ben and I).

Someone else was operating the camera, and Ben had told him not to stop taking photos just keep going.

On the count of 3, Ben then told everyone, "We're pregnant".

Silence. No reactions. Nothing.

No one believed us. lol

Then I said, he's not lying, we're pregnant!! No one could believe it since no one knew we were wanting to have babies at this time.

It was a nice surprise. We then said we'd take a real photo now. So everyone was back in position and on the count of 3 Ben then says,

"It's twins!"

Again, no one believed us! LOL I had to show them our ultrasound picture .....
