Well we had our OB appt today .. Ben and I have talked about this a lot. While I love my OB, I really dont want to deliver at the local hospital. With twins you are automatically high risk, and their is a risk of them coming earlier.
This hospital does not have a NICU for the babies or a nursery even. While I like and trust my doctor, the hospital isnt equipped for any emergencies should they arise.
I like to be prepared, and the last thing I want is for the babies to be sent to the city where the NICU is, and me being left behind at the local hospital. I'd go nuts not knowing what is going on with them ....
So at this appt we decided we'd tell my doctor while I really like HIM, we dont want to deliver at the local hospital.
It went fairly smooth. As well as can be expected I guess. When I told my OB, he said that he would refer me to an amazing doctor in the city.
Well, when I got home, I researched him, and little did I know but he is the Chief of OB for the entire city!! YAY!!
We are sooo relieved. The babies will now be born in a hospital with an NICU in it.
